Christian Education: Learn and Grow
Marcia Plumb
Christian Education has been a passion of mine throughout my 50+ years as a member of the Community of Christ. I have been both teacher and director, and believe that spending time in study and dialogue about the Scriptures and about our discipleship in the world is vital to Christian growth.
I am a wife, mother of three and grandmother of three. I'm a former elementary school teacher, an elder in the Community of Christ, and an office manager in a small CPA office. My passions, besides my grandchildren, are music and photography.
My journey in this faith community has led me from Maryland and Washington, DC to the San Francisco Bay area. I have found acceptance and loving support in each congregation I have attended along with opportunities to serve and grow. My home for 30+ years in California has been in a congregational family where people try to experience peacemaking in relationship with others who are seeking a walk with Jesus.
Our Christian Education program has at its heart the purpose of strengthening each one's discipleship, and helping each person discover how their gifts and talents can be used to promote Christ's Kingdom of peace and justice. This is done through Scripture study classes as well as classes exploring our mission as Christians in this world. It's a good place to listen, exchange thoughts and grow.
