Message from the Pastor
We welcome you, always, to fellowship with our Community of Christ. I am honored to be an ordained elder and the pastor of this congregation, which I have attended with my family for nearly 40 years.
I was raised in Maryland, where my father was a pastor. I received my BS degree in elementary education from Towson University. After moving to California, I became active in the Sunnyvale congregation before it merged with the San Jose congregation. My three children Stephanie, Brian, and Amie were raised in this wonderfully supportive community and have made life lasting relationships. I presently work in an accounting office in Milpitas and enjoy photography and crocheting prayer shawls.
I have been involved in Christian Education, choral music, and bell choir. I assist in worship planning, Wednesday evening prayer and share gatherings. I believe it is vital to keep connected to the World Church endeavors and have attended Peace Colloquies and World Conferences in Independence, MO. many times. Our worldwide vision of the kingdom of peace and justice unites us and excites me as our lives center in the mission of Jesus Christ.
The wonderful support of my counselors and the congregation as a whole keep me energized for the work to which we are called. I am honored to serve as pastor in the congregation where my grandfather, Louis Adams, was pastor in the 50's. I look forward to envisioning our place in Christ's kingdom here in the Bay Area.
Marcia Plumb, Pastor of the Community of Christ in San Jose, CA.
